Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing AAS

 The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree launches students into the multifaceted field of beauty through a curriculum that integrates sensory evaluation, brand development, and the business of beauty. Coursework emphasizes the creation of socially driven beauty brands through storytelling, as well as the study of health-focused, science-based products that are driving innovation and sustainability.

Graduates of the AAS program are eligible to continue their studies in the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in Cosmetic and Fragrance Marketing, or in other BS degree programs within the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology.

Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing BS

 

The Bachelor of Science degree cultivates an interdisciplinary skill set spanning business, science, technology, and marketing. The curriculum includes courses such as Beauty Marketing in the Digital Age, Chemistry, and Cosmetic Product Knowledge, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how beauty products are developed, packaged, and brought to market. A required internship offers valuable professional experience, enabling students to apply classroom learning in real-world settings with leading companies.

Outside the Classroom

Students have interned at Glossier, Tarte, Nars, Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, Shiseido, Coty, Revlon, Firmenich, Symrise, and Mana. Graduates have worked at Estée Lauder, Parfums Givenchy, Barneys, L'Oréal, Lancôme, and Unilever. Their roles include product development, marketing, global brand management, sales, retail management, fragrance evaluation, social media, and editorial positions.

Virginia Bonifiglio

Virginia Bonofiglio

Assistant professor and associate chair of the Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing Department, Bonofiglio has over 40 years of experience in the fragrance and cosmetic industry. She holds a BA from Hunter College, City University of New York. In 2017, Bonofiglio was selected to be a judge at the Beauty ID Awards.

Delphine Horvath

Delphine Horvath

Horvath is an associate professor in the department. She holds an MA in business and marketing in luxury and art from l’Université Paris-Est, Marne-la-Vallée, and an MA in structural biochemistry from l’Université d'Orléans. New product development is but one example of Horvath’s diverse areas of expertise.
