Online Photo Submission

The photo submission process enables new FIT students to upload a photo to appear on their FIT Campus Card.

Submitting your Fashion Card photo before arriving on campus is highly recommended. By doing so, you’ll have the freedom to choose a photo you love and save valuable time avoiding lines on arrival date. Photos are typically approved within 48 business hours.  

You will receive an email from [email protected] directing you to upload your photo. Follow the link in the email and the steps.

Photo Submission Guidelines

You will receive an email from [email protected] directing you to upload your photo. To submit: 

  1. Log in with your username and password.
  2. Click profile (top left).
  3. Click submit new photo.
  4. Upload/take new photo (click add photo or drag photo into place).
  5. Submit. 

Your Campus Card photo must be a current picture of you taken in accordance with U. S. Department of State passport standards. 

Photo Guidelines

  • Submit a color photo in .jpg or .png format.
  • The photo should be cropped slightly above the middle of the chest.
  • The photo should be taken against a plain, light background.
  • You should be positioned directly facing the camera.
  • Your eyes should be open and you should look at the camera.
  • Keep your facial expression neutral or smile.
  • Wear prescription glasses if you normally do so.
  • A head covering is allowed if you wear it daily for religious purposes:
    Your full face must be visible.
    The covering cannot obscure hairline or cast shadows on your face.

Do Not:

  • wear a hat, sunglasses, or anything that obscures your face;
  • submit a photo that has shadows on your face, glare on your glasses, or red-eye;
  • submit a photo that visible people or objects in the photo;
  • submit a photo that includes props or hand gestures;
  • submit a photo that includes inappropriate facial expressions; or
  • submit a copyrighted images.

After Submission

Once your photo is submitted, it will be reviewed against the requirements outlined above.

You will receive two emails from FIT regarding your photo upload:

  • Email #1 will indicate whether your photo was successfully uploaded. 
  • Email #2 will indicate whether your photo has been accepted or rejected. If your photo is rejected, the email will provide an explanation and a link for re-submission.

All communication from the Card Office will be sent to your FIT email address.

Picking Up Your Card

New student living on campus: Bring identification (see below) the Housing and Residence Life desk during move-in to pick up your FIT Campus Card. 

New commuter student: You will receive an email instructing you when and where to pick up your FIT ID Card.

Acceptable forms of identification:

  • active driver’s license or state ID card issued by any U. S. state or territory
  • active U. S. passport or passport card
  • Canadian driver’s license or passport
  • foreign passport with active U. S. visa
  • U. S. green card (permanent resident card)
  • U. S. military ID

Not acceptable:

  • a photocopied ID of any kind
  • high school ID
  • ID from another college or university
  • foreign passport without U. S. visa
  • foreign driver’s license
