Transfer Credits

To ensure that your transfer credits are applied to your FIT record, be sure that all official transcripts have been sent to FIT.

Students applying to FIT must submit official transcripts from all previously attended colleges as part of the admissions application process.   Transfer credit review presumes official transcript(s) from all colleges attended prior to applying to FIT have been submitted; therefore, once you enroll for a first term at FIT, transfer credit will not be considered from colleges that were not disclosed during the admissions application process.

A grade of C or better must be earned for approval of transfer credit.

Transfer credit will show as T grades on your degree audit, and in MyFIT under Unofficial Student Transcript.

Transfer credit (T grade) is not calculated in the FIT grade point average.

The Registrar’s Office evaluates college-level liberal arts courses for possible transfer credit.  Courses taken in a major or related area must be evaluated by the academic department.  If you have questions about your transfer credit, email us at [email protected]. Please include your FIT student ID number and the name of the college attended in your email.

External Exams

Transfer credit is also awarded through satisfactory scores of standardized national exams.  An official score report (transcript) from the testing agency is required for awarding transfer credits.  Credit will not be awarded from high school transcripts or unofficial transcripts.  Equivalencies are subject to revision.

FIT awards transfer credit from the following:

Off-Campus Study

Currently enrolled students who want to take course(s) outside of FIT need to complete the Course Equivalency Assessment Form (pdf) for review and approval of coursework prior to registering at another college.
