Degree Requirements

General

For admittance to MA in Exhibition & Experience Design degree candidacy, students must have completed a minimum of 39 approved course credits, achieved a final grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, and had their qualifying project approved by their committee.

Students must have advanced to degree candidacy before being permitted to attend graduation ceremonies.

Qualifying Project

The final semester of the program comprises four interdisciplinary courses, through which students conceive and execute a professional-quality, independent thesis design project, subject to department approval. The thesis is theme-driven, comprised of completed exhibition design development and final design documents, an accompanying exhibition model and thesis paper.

Time Requirement for Degree Completion

Students may matriculate full time or part time; the full time program begins with the fall session and takes place over three consecutive semesters, ending in the second Fall. Students can also choose to take courses on a part-time basis, however the final semester will be full-time. The final semester coursework is dedicated to students' thesis design projects.
