How to Make an Appointment

How to Make an Appointment?

  1. Call (212) 217-4260 or visit the Counseling Center during the Center office hours (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM) to schedule an appointment. If you call after hours, please leave a message and we’ll return your call during office hours.
  2. Complete intake forms through your Student Health Portal (instructions are emailed to you).
  3. Meet with a counselor for an initial appointment. Together, you’ll decide the best next steps, which may include:
    • Short-term therapy at the Counseling Center
    • Group counseling or workshops
    • Connection with campuswide resources

If  you need longer-term or more specialized support, we’ll help connect you with off-campus mental health providers who work with your insurance.

What If There Is An Emergency?

During the Center office hours, crisis counseling is available as a “walk-in” service for students who feel they are at imminent risk for suicide, violence or who may have experienced a traumatic event. They can either walk into the Counseling Center or call the Counseling center at 212-217-4260 during the Counseling Center’s open hours, to be connected to a counselor.

After Hours:

  • On campus: Contact your Residence Hall Director or Campus Security (212-217-7777)
  • Off campus: Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911
