As part of Women's History Month, FIT's International Trade and Marketing program collaborated on a panel to discuss women’s leadership and management development in New York international trade. Partners were with District Export Council NY and CUNY Queen’s College.

The panel members were:

  • Andrea Ratay, vice president, TD Bank
  • Carmela Mammas, director of the U. S. Commercial Service, U. S. Department of Commerce
  • Christine Pomeranz, associate professor and associate chair, International Trade and Marketing, FIT

Panel members discussed import/export avenues, solutions, and financing, with a focus on top brands from New York. With future international trade leadership in mind, the speakers deliberated on the unique role that small- to medium-sized exporting companies play in the successful growth of New York and the rest of the world’s economy with women at the helm.
