Scrapbooks

The NYPL Scrapbook Collection is located on the 6th floor of the Library, on top of the Picture File Collection cabinets in E620.

This is a non-circulating collection of scrapbooks created in the 1930s and 1940s by New York Public Librarians (NYPL Digital Library). The collection is arranged by individual headings ranging from costumes, architectural details, to jewelry design.

Due to the fragile nature of this collection, we kindly ask patrons to be gentle when handling the scrapbooks.

Tip: To help preserve the collection, it is recommended that patrons photograph the images they need rather than stretch the binding to scan.

Should you find any ripped pages or damaged scrapbooks, please notify a staff member at the Library Services Desk.
