Mexico Seminar

Held each February, the Mexico Seminar brings together students from FIT and CENTRO
for an immersive exploration of Mexico's fashion and consumer marketplace. Through
executive presentations, company visits, academic sessions, participants examine the
business strategies, innovation practices, consumer trends, and entrepreneurial ventures
shaping one of Latin America's most dynamic economies.
Sessions led by CENTRO faculty and industry leaders explore topics such as branding,
innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking, consumer behavior, and Mexico's evolving
role within the broader Latin American marketplace. Students visit emerging and established
brands, retailers, and creative organizations, gaining firsthand exposure to the strategies,
business models, and market dynamics driving growth across one of the region's most
influential markets.
Cultural programming complements academic sessions through curated experiences that
deepen students' understanding of the cultural and historical influences shaping consumer
behavior, business practices, and market dynamics in Mexico.
Lectures and Site Visits

Site visits bridge classroom learning and real-world application. By engaging directly with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and cultural institutions, students gain a deeper understanding of how organizations navigate growth, innovation, and change within Mexico's dynamic business environment. The selection of visits varies each year to reflect current market developments and emerging industry opportunities.
Past seminar activities have included:
- Executive presentations from brand and industry leaders
- Innovation workshops led by CENTRO faculty
- Retail and market immersion experiences
- Visits to museums and cultural institutions, including the National Museum of Anthropology
- Team-based case study addressing real-world business challenges
- Cultural and architectural excursions that provide deeper insight into Mexico's history,
heritage,
and creative traditions
Case Study

GFM students from FIT and CENTRO, representing a diverse range of countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds, work in cross-functional teams to analyze a real-world business challenge within the Mexican market and develop strategic recommendations. Drawing on insights gained throughout the seminar, teams present their findings and recommendations on the final day to senior leaders from the participating company and receive direct feedback from key stakeholders.
