HAD 101: Introduction to Graphic Design (Updated June 2019)

  • Sketchbook, 9"x12"
  • Drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 4B)
  • Black ink pens (Micron, 03, 05)
  • Black Sharpie (thick)
  • Sharpener
  • Eraser
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Masking Tape
  • 15” non-skid metal ruler
  • X-Acto #11 knife/blades
  • Chipboard/Cutting board- 12 x 12 inch (or similar)
  • Magazines


HAD 109: Drawing in Adobe Illustrator (Updated June 2019)

  • Notebook (for notes)
  • Sketchbook 
  • Drawing Materials: Pens and pencils (Sharpie and Micron recommended because they scan easily)
  • Flash Drive (4GB or larger)

HAD 149: Advertising and Graphic Design Portfolio (updated: 9/18/18)

  • USB Flash Drive (portable “thumb drive”) minimum 8G capacity (You must bring to every class.)
  • Metal Ruler at least 18”
  • Pencils & Erasers (If you already have a set of colored pencils, that’s a plus.)
  • Sketchbook 6in x 9in, 8in x 10in or 9in x 12in size
  • Scissors and X-Acto Knife with extra blades - #11 handle, #11 blades
  • Plastic Goggles (must be worn when using X-Acto Knife)
  • Tape – double-sided clear (Scotch-type) 1/2” or 1”
  • 4 pieces 11” x 14” Black or gray mounting board
  • Roll of masking tape - 1 inch, 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch wide
  • Conventional note-taking materials (pen and notebook) are required for all classes.

    (You can bring a 8G or 10G flash drive for the first few classes if you have questions about what kind of external hard drive to purchase)
