Virtual Lunch & Learn: Nearshoring—Successful Local Sourcing

This second session focused on the fundamental differences between sourcing with full-package vendors overseas versus sourcing successfully closer to home. Logistics and production management, while identifying the product sectors best suited for local sourcing was also discussed.

Virtual Lunch & Learn: Breaking the Barriers of Sustainable Fashion

Hosted by FIT’s Center for Continuing and Professional Studies (CCPS) and the Garment District Alliance (GDA), the Lunch & Learn was held virtually. There was a fireside chat discussing the opportunities in utilizing recognized sustainable fabric resources, supply chain sustainability, and how to operate a business in a more sustainable manner.

Manufacturing Symposium

The Manufacturing Symposium is an educational forum for manufacturers, designers, brands, and students to explore the latest technological innovations transforming apparel manufacturing today. The 2025 symposium shared details about the release of CitySource Virtual Factory Tours filmed from 2021 through 2023.

Manufacturing Expo: Local Supplier Showcase at FIT

The event featured a wide variety of vendors including pattern and sample makers, production contractors, marking and grading, cutting, printers, pleating, embroidery, dyeing, accessories, trims, fabrics, leather, knitters, and design services.
