Veteran Student Eligibility
New Students
What to send to your Fashion Institute of Technology VA Certifying Official:
- Copy of completed application for veteran student educational benefits
- Copy of Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty DD Form 214 (if you are a Veteran)
- Copy of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) DD Form 2384-1 (if you are a member of the Select Reserve)
- Copy of Buy-up Program documentation (if applicable)
- Copy of Certificate of Eligibility (you will receive this from the Buffalo Regional VA office once a determination on your eligibility is made)
Transfer Students
Students who had been receiving veteran benefits at another college must complete a Change Program/Place of Training form to receive benefits at the Fashion Institute of Technology:
- VA Form 22-1995 for Veterans, Service persons, and Members of the Selected Reserve or
- VA Form 22-5495 for Survivors and Dependents Education Assistance

Continuing Students
Continuing students are asked to contact the VA Certifying Official immediately upon registering for classes; this is not limited to fall and spring semester registration, but winter session and summer session I or II classes as well.
