Registration Holds

What is a Registration Hold?

This means your registration is on hold or blocked until you complete an action required by the department that placed the hold on your record.  The hold must be released or cleared before you can register.  For details, log into myFIT.   You will be able to view the hold type and the reason, if available, for the hold.

How to View Holds in MyFIT:

• Click Office of the Registrar card
• Click Registration and Class Search link
• Click Check Your Registration Status, select the term, and click Continue

How to Release a Hold

You need to complete the required action and then that department can release or remove your registration hold.  Common registration holds include Bursar Holds which require you to pay your balance and then notify the Bursar, or Academic Planning holds that requires you to meet with your advisor to have the hold released.  If you need assistance, you will need to contact the department that added the hold to your record.
