Biography

Thomas Foley is an administrative law judge who previously held attorney positions in arbitration, mediation and civil litigation, representing parties in areas including art law, real estate, personal injury and class action. Foley’s teaching focuses on art law in areas such as copyright and art, gallery ethics and relationships, warranties of authenticity and cultural property.

Foley is a mediator/arbitrator on the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA), a member of the Art Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association and a member of Professional Advisors to the International Art Market (PAIAM). He holds an LLM from Trinity College Dublin, an LLB from Liverpool John Moores University, and an MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York.
