Dear FIT Community:

At our recent Convocation, I spoke about the progress we are making toward updating the strategic plan for FIT and some of the next steps in that process. A key step will be to open the dialog to the entire campus. To that end, we will hold two Town Hall meetings in the Katie Murphy Amphitheatre: one on Wednesday, February 13th, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., and the other on Thursday, February 14th, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Traditionally, our strategic plan has served as the road map for FIT's future and will continue to do so as we work on this new iteration. Because our focus is on innovation, we have hired a consulting firm to support the college in the planning process. The firm, Kalypso, is committed to helping organizations meet their innovation goals and has a good track record of success in that area. So far, Kalypso has conducted interviews with a broad base of FIT stakeholders that include students, alumni, faculty, administrators, and Board and Foundation members. In addition, they have facilitated workshops that have been attended by the Planning Council, a cross-section of representatives from the entire college community.

We look forward to sharing some preliminary results while also discussing how we plan to engage the FIT community throughout the rest of the strategic planning process. Thank you and I hope you will join us in February.
