Strategic Planning: 2019-2024

Over the past 20 years, under the leadership of President Brown, FIT has been guided by a series of three strategic plans, each with escalating aspirations.  The college has now embarked on its fourth planning effort.  Building on the strength of what has already been achieved, this plan will focus on the culture of innovation that has taken root in the college through its programs, advanced research projects, industry partnerships, technology investments and long-term resource planning.  This iteration will be a five year plan that reflects who we are, where we are going, and our commitment to the future.

As with the development of previous plans, we have ensured that the process is participatory across all the campus constituent groups.  It was launched in September 2018 at a meeting led by President Brown and attended by the Planning Council, a committee that represents a cross-section of the college.  To support the theme of this plan, the college engaged as facilitator a consulting firm---Kalypso---known for its concentration on innovation.  In addition to the contributions of the Planning Council, a larger group of faculty, staff, administrators and students will be asked to come together to form new committees.  The process will also incorporate the larger FIT community through round table discussion and town hall meetings.
