Middle States Periodic Review

FIT prepared for Middle States' activity, the Periodic Review Report, due on June 1, 2017. The report included a six-section document, with an additional companion document certifying compliance with relevant federal recommendations.

  1. An executive summary
  2. Response to recommendations resulting from the last evaluation
  3. Report on significant major developments, changes or challenges subsequent to the last evaluation
  4. Review enrollment trends and enrollment and financial projections
  5. Determine how well FIT is assessing institutional effectiveness and the assessment of student learning outcomes (accreditation standards 7 and 14)
  6. Identify how we link institutional planning and budgeting

Steering Committee

A steering committee made up of faculty, staff, administrators and students were charged with reviewing and guiding the development of each section.

Once all sections were reviewed, a town hall meeting was called to review the draft of the report. Here further feedback was collected from the FIT community, and incorporated into the final report in advance of a Spring 2017 review by Dr. Brown and the Board of Trustees. With approval of the final report, Dr. Brown signed a re-affirmation statement of our Middle States accreditation, and the report submitted to Middle States, along with the compliance report and re-accreditation statement.
