Biography

Margaret (Meg) Joseph is an associate professor in the Global Fashion Management (GFM) program in the School of Graduate Studies.

Joseph has also taught at Baruch College, Westchester Community College, and the University of California - San Diego. At Westchester Community College, she concurrently served as the Interim Research Director for the Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies during the year leading up to its launch.

Earlier in her career, Joseph worked in sales at Lord & Taylor and in global advertising at The Coca-Cola Company. She was Director of International Marketing for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. She also consulted to numerous and varied businesses, from Sempra Energy to the short-lived start-up, ShopNow.com.

Joseph has published in the Journal of Organizational Effectiveness and the International Journal of Management Cases and has contributed chapters on social entrepreneurship in fashion (University of Navarra Press) and teaching with business simulation games (Edward Elgar) to edited academic books. While she continues to be interested in the use of technology in management education, Joseph is currently researching student internships, which lie at the intersection of business education and practice. She is a member of the Academy of Management and the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society.

Joseph holds an MBA in Marketing and the Management of Information, Communication, and Media from Columbia University and a BA in French Civilization from Brown University. She completed doctoral coursework in organization management at Baruch College/CUNY and in curriculum, instruction, and the science of learning at the University at Buffalo, SUNY.
