In just a few days, your student will be joining the FIT community and starting a
new journey with us. It goes without saying that for the past several months, we have
all been navigating uncharted territory however, we are hopeful that transitioning
your student(s) to a virtual learning environment will be a smooth one. In fact, notwithstanding
a pandemic, we have been busy planning for an engaging and informative Orientation
experience which we hope will give your student an opportunity to connect with peers
and learn about the various support services and resources at FIT. It is in this spirit
of engagement that we want to take this opportunity to invite you to attend Families
In Transition, a virtual family welcome session scheduled during Orientation Week.
Families in Transition is a great opportunity for FIT families to get a feel for student life and to connect with other folks who will be making similar transitions. This program involves a series of live virtual receptions which will include meet-and-greet sessions with Student Success educators from various FIT departments. The receptions do not have a formalized program format and are geared toward answering any questions you might have about support services at FIT. Please join us as we invite you to take this opportunity to feel welcomed and secure in the knowledge that your student is in good hands. We believe that this will give you a unique perspective on how to support your student as they transition to FIT.
