Laundry

Laundry services in the residence halls are easy, convenient, and fully app-based—no need to carry cash. Each of FIT’s four residence halls features modern, energy-efficient laundry rooms managed by Fowler Laundry Solutions.

  • $2.00 per wash and $2.00 per dry
  • Open 24/7 (unless otherwise notified) 
  • Cashless: coins, debit, and credit cards are not accepted. Pay with the PayRange app. With PayRange, you can connect to the machines in your laundry room, pay for laundry, check machine availability, receive cycle and status updates, and submit service requests.

Laundry Instructions

  1. Add detergent or place laundry pod directly into the drum.
    DO NOT USE powdered detergent.
    Liquid detergent: use HE (High Efficiency) detergent only; follow recommended amount (less is more).
    Laundry pods: use only one per load; place directly in the drum.
    Fabric softener: adds softness and helps protect fabrics; follow recommended amount.
  2. Load clothes (leave about 5 inches of space at the top).
  3. Select your cycle.
  4. Pay using the PayRange app.
  5. Before you dry, make sure the lint screen is clean.
    Dryer sheets: use one sheet per load to reduce static.

Laundry Tips

  • Sort by color: dark, medium, light/white.
  • Sort by fabric: separate towels and heavy items from lighter fabrics; keep lint-shedding fabrics away from lint-attracting fabrics.
  • Use one dryer for each washer used.
  • Clean the lint filter after every use.
  • Leave the washer door open after use to allow airflow and prevent odors or mildew.
  • Promptly remove your laundry when your cycle ends.

DOs and DON'Ts

Help keep machines running smoothly:

  • Do not overload or underload machines.
  • Empty all pockets before washing.
  • Use the correct amount of detergent.

NOTE: You are responsible for monitoring your laundry and promptly retrieving belongings when cycles are complete. FIT is not responsible for unattended items.
