Testing for Spring 2022 Return to Campus

All students and employees, regardless of vaccination status, are required to submit a negative PCR test to the Health Services portal within 72 hours of returning to campus for the spring semester. More details on our COVID-19 testing page

New Booster Mandate for Students

New York State mandates all students to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 in order to attend in-person classes and continue their enrollment at FIT. Students should upload proof of their booster shot to the Health Services portal prior to the start of the Spring 2022 semester. More information on boosters on our Vaccinations page.

Masks Required

Regardless of vaccination status, all students, employees, and visitors are required to wear masks while in all spaces in FIT buildings, including 236 West 27th Street and 333 Seventh Avenue. The single exception is when you are in an office alone or when you are eating and drinking. Mask-wearing will continue until further notice in order to protect those who are unvaccinated and to ensure extra protection for everyone. If you arrive on campus without a mask, you will be given one by a Public Safety officer.

Social Distancing

Social distancing requirements have been eliminated. Mask-wearing is enforced to protect the unvaccinated. All classroom and work spaces are set for standard capacity levels.

FIT IDs and Semester Stickers

All entrances to FIT properties—including 236 West 27th Street, and Floors 13–16 at 333 Seventh Avenue—are open and staffed with Public Safety officers. To gain access, employees and returning students must show an FIT ID with a spring 2022 sticker.

FIT meets and exceeds all ventilation standards of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of New York, and SUNY.

All FIT spaces are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis in accordance with CDC, State of New York, and SUNY guidelines.
