Eric Odin, JD

eric odinEric Odin is the acting vice president for Human Resource Management and Labor Relations, overseeing the college’s human resource function for approximately 2,000 faculty, staff, and administrators.

Odin's responsibilities include recruitment, compensation, benefits, time and leave, human resource information systems, and employee and labor relations, as well as development and implementation of strategic human resource goals and objectives in alignment with the college’s strategic plan.

Odin joined FIT in 2008, serving as director of Human Resource Services until fall 2017, when he moved to the General Counsel’s office as assistant general counsel. Odin holds a J.D. from George Washington University Law School and a master’s in industrial organizational psychology from George Mason University; he earned his bachelor’s from Northwestern University, after completing his first two years of college at the Virginia Military Institute. Before relocating to New York and joining FIT, he interned with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office of Fairfax County, Virginia, and subsequently practiced law with the firm of Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C., focusing on commercial real estate, land use, zoning, labor and employment, bankruptcy, and other corporate and tax matters.

In addition to his legal practice, Odin served as a research fellow with Defense Manpower Data Center, a Department of Defense division under the Office of the Secretary of Defense, an industrial relations coordinator with the casino operations of Empire City Raceway, and an adjunct professor at Manhattanville College, teaching organizational behavior, industrial organizational psychology, and law and psychology.
