Orientation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You can access the Orientation Schedule (PDF) online here. A printed copy will also be given to you at Orientation check-in.

Orientation is mandatory for all new students; if you have a conflict be sure to attend as many sessions as you can as Orientation is designed to facilitate your transition to FIT smoothly and there will be no makeup options.

Your Orientation Group assignment was shared to your FIT email account. Search for subject line: Group Assignment & Schedule. The sender is [email protected]. Location information for your group meet-ups is accessible here.

Lunch during Orientation is FREE and you do not need to use your meal plan. You can use your meal plan during all other times of the day.

Orientation check-in will be located in the Pomerantz Center Lobby. Check-in begins at 9am - 9:45am on Wednesday, January 21st.

ID Photo Participants

If your photo was approved online via “ID Photo” and submitted by
the January 11 deadline, your ID will be available for pickup. Residential
students will receive their ID upon moving in to the residence halls.
Commuters will receive their ID at Orientation.

If your photo was not approved or you did not submit one, you
will need to get your photo taken on campus before January 30,
2026. Public Safety will be set up from 8 am to 6 pm in AX39, the
Auxiliary Gym in the Business and Liberal Arts Center, through Friday,
January 30. Please bring a government-issued photo ID and proof of
registration.

There is NO need to miss any Orientation program as your class schedule or physical orientation schedule will grant you temporary access to non-residential campus buildings.

  1. Go to MyFIT
  2. Log in with your FIT username (everything before the @ symbol) and password
  3. In the first row, look for “FIT Web Resources”
  4. Under “FIT Web Resources” select Brightspace. The 4th hyperlink in the list.
  5. Brightspace will open in a separate tab
  6. Once live, under “My Courses”, select Spring New Student Pre-Orientation Module
  7. Work through each topic under the “Table of Contents” until all completed

All tours will depart from the Pomerantz Center Lobby. FIT Tour Guides will lead you around campus, pointing out your classrooms, campus resources, places to study, etc. Be sure to bring your class schedule. Sign up for a tour via the
Corq app.

No, your parent/guardian/friend cannot attend Orientation. The Orientation program sessions are only for the new student.
