Accommodations During Pregnancy & Postpartum

Childcare Assistance Program
FIT's Office of Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) offers childcare assistance through the Childcare Assistance Program (CAP). Contact: the Childcare Assistance Program (CAP) at [email protected] or 212-217-4170.
Lactation Rooms
FIT provides the use of private lactation rooms for nursing students. Lactation Rooms are located in:
- Feldman Center, Room C-309A (3rd floor)
- 333 7th Avenue, Room 16-61 (16th floor)

Other Campus Resources
- Health Services: Provides free health services to students including pregnancy tests, birth control, referral to pregnancy care, nutrition for pregnant individuals, terminations, and emergency assistance. Contact: Health Services at [email protected] or 212-217-4190.
- Counseling Services: Provides free and confidential individual and group counseling for registered and degree-seeking students, as well as referrals to outside mental health professionals as needed. Contact: Counseling Services at 212-217-4260 or visit their office in the Dubinsky Student Center, Room A-212B (2nd floor).
- Basic Needs and Emergency Resources: Learn about on- and off-campus resources like the FIT Food Pantry, Student Emergency Fund, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Benefits, and more.

Under the Department of Education's (DOE) regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, a university "shall not discriminate against any student from its education program or activity, including any class or extracurricular activity, on the basis of such student's pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy or recovery therefrom."
