Student Perspective: Christiana Maticke

christiana matickeChristiana Maticke, FBM '25, and founder of Dawnatellas Fashion Brand, inspired by her family's background in sewing always had a passion for fashion. Knowing she belonged in the industry, she enrolled at FIT and chose to major in Fashion Business Management (FBM). She actively participated in campus organizations like the Merchandising Society, Style Shop, and Student Government, which helped her grow in confidence and  develpop communication skills.

At a career fair she landed a Macy’s internship, which led to a full-time role in Product Development and Sourcing Operations. Christiana feels more than ready to start her career after graduation. Her advice to students is to believe in themselves, stay open to feedback, and get involved on campus. Reflecting on her FIT journey, she shares: “If you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.”
