Beloved Dean Honored with Scholarship Fund
Steven Frumkin, Dean of FIT’s Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology,
passed away on July 23, 2020 due to COVID-19.
Beloved by faculty and staff, he was known for his kindness, sense of fairness, his inimitable humor, and the support he provided willingly to all. He happily mentored new faculty and was deeply student-centered.
His family—in collaboration with the FIT community and thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Jay and Patty Baker—was able to establish The Dean Steven Frumkin Scholarship Fund at FIT in his memory. The scholarship will help financially disadvantaged students studying in the School of Business and Technology, providing them with tuition assistance and other critical support so they can pursue their dreams.
He is sorely missed, but thanks to the generous support of Dr. Jay and Patty Baker, we can honor his memory by giving the gift of education to FIT students.
