Biography

Dong Yang is an experienced strategic business development leader who builds and drives digital and distribution strategy for leading fashion and luxury brands. She brings extensive experience in the luxury industry and academia with a focus on brand management and business development in the United States, China, and Europe. Yang’s industry experience includes U.S. Partner and Head of Business Development at Shanghai BuyQuickly and Head of Business Development and Wholesale in APAC for Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF). She co-founded Les Artisans Partners, where she led e-commerce and business development in New York City. Prior to that, Dong worked at LVMH North America, Louis Vuitton Paris, and Barneys New York.

Yang's teaching experiences include professor of Luxury Brand Management at SCAD and lecturer at Dong Hua University (China Textile University). She strongly believes in "learning by doing" and is most passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of the industry leaders for the luxury industry. She joined the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology at FIT in fall 2023. 

Yang earned an MBA from Cornell University, a Master of Arts degree in Apparel Merchandising from Washington State University, and a bachelor's degree in Fashion Art Design from Dong Hua University (China Textile University).
