Biography

Henry Welt is the former CEO of Van Cleef and Arpels and Executive Chairman of Paloma Picasso.

Welt graduated from Columbia Law School in 1972 and practiced commercial international law until the early 90s. In 1992, he was appointed Executive Chairman of the Paloma Picasso Group and led the team who built that business into a multi-national licensing group with operations in 12 countries. He later served as CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Inc. the North American division of the storied French luxury jewelry house and organized the sale of that family business to Richemont, the parent of Cartier and other luxury jewelry brands.

Welt teaches International Business Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. He says he loves his interaction with the FIT community of students and faculty and has assumed the leadership of the ITM Mentoring Program.
