Biography

Brontë Hebdon Patterson is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. She graduated with distinction from the Institute of Fine Arts in 2018 with her MA thesis, titled, Cockades, Cravats, and Hot Pants: Aesthetic Politics and the Visual Language of Citizenship during the French Directory. Her in-progress PhD dissertation at the Institute examines collaborations between artists and fashion designers at Napoleon Bonaparte’s court.
