Biography

Dr. Eunyoung Kim is an expert in textile quality assurance, nonwovens, and softgoods development, blending emerging technologies with a solid foundation in traditional manufacturing. She holds dual doctorates in Textile Technology Management and Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State’s Wilson College of Textiles.

As a Provost’s Fellow at NC State's Wilson College of Textiles, she conducted pioneering research at the Nonwovens Institute, earning multiple Best Presentation Awards for her innovative approaches to quantifying fuzz in textiles. Her work has significantly advanced the understanding of structure-process-property relationships within intertwined fabric properties, particularly in nonwovens.

Dr. Kim's industry experience includes roles at Apple’s Softgoods Operations, CreateMe Technologies, Evolved by Nature, and an internship at Meta Reality Labs, where she focused on quality assurance, novel manufacturing systems, sustainable polymers, and innovative textile applications in technology-driven environments.

She is dedicated to mentoring future textile professionals, currently serving in the Textile Development and Marketing department at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she fosters innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the textile domain.
