Biography

Christina Karahalios recently accepted a role in museum leadership after years in the commercial art world. She was previously Senior Director of Operations of Hauser & Wirth for New York, where her responsibilities ranged from strategic leadership to operations, facilities, and project management (including overseeing the construction of Hauser & Wirth’s new five-story location in Chelsea). She also led the development of Hauser & Wirth Institute, an independent non-profit. Prior to this, she served as Managing Director of Greene Naftali Gallery from 2012 to 2015.

Before transitioning to the commercial sector, Karahalios worked for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum for eleven years. Brought onboard as a global program analyst, she was promoted five times during her tenure and ultimately advanced to the role of Associate Director, Finance and Operations, Abu Dhabi Project, providing strategic, financial planning, and decision-making support for the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. She holds a MS in International Affairs from The New School and a BA in Art History from Pace University.
