Danae Colomer has been working in the exhibition design field for the last 14 years. She's an architect and exhibition designer with extensive experience in museum, architecture, and film design and production. She strongly believes storytelling brings people together and helps change the status quo.

Trained as an architect in Spain, she discovered her love for exhibition design working in Paris at the Centre Georges Pompidou. Danae relocated to New York in 2009, and since then she has been fortunate to participate in the creation of award-winning museums in Europe, Asia and North America.

Some of the institutions Danae has helped bring their mission and message to fruition are the Museum of Food and Drink, New York, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington, D.C., the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow, Russia, the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, Miami, Florida and the geological interpretation center of Jabal Buhais Geology Park in Sharjah, UAE.

Danae has designed and managed projects and teams at Ralph Appelbaum Associate for 10 years. She is currently a professor at Fashion Institute of Technology for the Master’s Degree program in Exhibition and Experience Design. Danae holds two MAs, one in architecture, from the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, and the other in Exhibition Design, from FIT, New York.

When not helping institutions tell their story and students find their design voice, she enjoys exploring the world through her kids eyes.
