In tandem with the publishing of the Harvard Business Review article, "To Set Your Brand Apart, Create Moments of Shareable Joy" (September 30, 2025), The Beauty Center at FIT hosted an insightful industry panel, featuring co-author and moderator Larissa Jensen—FIT alumna, FIT adjunct faculty member, and SVP, Global Beauty Industry Advisor at Circana—alongside panelists Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, co-founders of Beekman 1802.

Larissa Jensen, CFMM '04 and faculty member, with Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, co-founders of Beekman 1802.

The discussion centered on “Exploring Joy in Marketing,” to the joint CFMM/CFM Advisory and HR Board Members. It was the first podcast recorded at the Beauty Center at FIT. Brent and Josh shared how their brand has embedded joy into its DNA, while Larissa, self-described as a “joyalist”—someone who treats joy as a guiding principle and embraces it as resilience – provided broader industry perspective supported by data and trend analysis, and noted that beauty is deeply connected to the joyalist spirit across creators and consumers alike. The session highlighted how emotional resonance, particularly joy, can shape brand strategy, strengthen consumer relationships, and drive long-term loyalty.
