Hats: Design and Make Your Own Fascinator

Spring forward with your own original-designed fascinator. Bigger than a barrette, but smaller than a hat, these British-inspired whimsical adornments have become fashion right for celebratory events in the day, or at "cocktail hour", no matter the country. This studio workshop introduces you to professional techniques from the elements of good design—what makes a statement versus what's just plain silly—to cutting a pattern and constructing a proper buckram mini-pillbox base. Learn hand-sewing techniques used in the finest quality millinery and work with feathers, flowers, beads, and veiling to embellish your creation to be worn on the front, side, or back of your head. No experience necessary. Skills imparted can be used for future commercial or personal projects.
