Partnering with the Leslie – Lohman Museum, the department of Photography, the Academic Advisement Center and FIT's LGBTQ student group, LGBTQ Students United produced educational symposia during the 2016-2017 academic year designed to educate, enlighten and spread awareness about the contributions of past and present LGBTQ artists. A panel discussion focused on the current state of LGBTQ art and artists, followed the symposia series, featuring curators and artists involved in the exhibitions at the museum and Charles Leslie, a founder of the Leslie-Lohman museum.
