Jacqueline Pomeranz ITM Scholarship (.pdf)

(updated for Fall 2021)

This scholarship was raised in memory of Jacqueline Pomeranz (mother of Russell, Prof. Christine Pomeranz’s husband), who passed away on 6 November 2019. Ms. Pomeranz was a career counselor for three decades at a community college in Cleveland, Ohio, guiding students to pursue professional paths where their natural talents, studies, and aspirations led them. Her last decade was spent at her retirement community, interviewing co-residents at the local radio station, welcoming new community members, and selecting undergraduate scholars with compelling stories of accomplishment. A lifelong athlete, who biked, played tennis, lifted weights, and climbed thousands of steps daily at the gym, she also enjoyed witty conversations about politics and education, and loved listening to classical music. With donations from various donors to honor the life of Jacqueline Pomeranz, this fund finances one scholarship of at least $2,500. The scholarship is for an ITM student with a strong scholastic record, penchant for any of the interests Ms. Pomeranz represented, and visible volunteer work at ITM, FIT, the industry, and/or the community.
