ABE 100 USPAP: Art Appraisal Standard Practices
This course reviews the code of ethics and standards for evaluation and appraisal practice, including appraisal report writing. Concentrate on personal property appraising and the USPAP examination. Successful completion of the course is proof of professional competence and is required for those who intend to become qualified professional appraisers. The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) is the set of standards for appraisers written by the Appraisal Standards Board of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, DC.

ABE 200 History of Design, 1930s-1950s
In this introductory course, you will learn how and why art and design changed in the early twentieth-century. Illustrative examples will be culled from all major design areas. The designers discussed will show the international influence that evolved throughout the century.

ABE 201 History of Mid-Century Design, Part 2
This course is a continuation of History of Mid-Century Design, Part 1.

ABE 203 New Materials
This course will provide a close examination of new materials used by mid-century designers including the materials’potential applications and the need for conservation.

ABE 301 Stylemasters: Art  Painting and Sculpture
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century painting and sculpture. A brief history of twentieth-century art will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying periods, mediums, artists, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. One session will be offsite to take advantage of NYC's arts and culture scene. There may be a modest fee.

ABE 302 Mid-Century Prints, Photography, and New Media
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century prints, photographs, and new media. A brief history oftwentieth-century art will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying periods, mediums, artists, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. A field trip will be included.

ABE 303 History of Interior Design
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century interiors and accessories. A brief history of twentieth-century interior design will be provided, and you will learn how to identify periods, mediums, artists, forgeries, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. One session will be off-site to take advantage of New York City's arts and culture scene. There may be a modest fee.

ABE 304 Stylemasters: Furniture
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century furniture. A brief history of twentieth-century furnishings will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying wood, periods, country of origin, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. A field trip will be included.

ABE 305 Stylemasters: Fine Jewelry
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century fine jewelry. A brief history of twentieth-century jewelry design will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying materials, periods, designers, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. A field trip will be included.

A brief history of twentieth-century jewelry design will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying materials, periods, designers, fakes, and masterpieces. ABE 307 Stylemasters: Couture
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century couture. A brief history of twentieth-century fashion design will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying materials, periods, designers, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. A field trip will be included.

ABE 308 Stylemasters: Couture Accessories
In this course, you will hone your skills in evaluating mid-century couture as it relates to fashion accessories (hats, bags, shoes). A brief history of twentieth century fashion design will be provided, accompanied by tips on identifying materials, periods, designers, fakes, and masterpieces. Values will be discussed at retail and auction levels. A field trip will be included.
