HS Fashion Design Art: Opening Day Supply Lists

HAR 016: Introduction to Fashion Design Art   (Updated September 2019)

  • Pencils: HB or 2B pencils and one 4H or 3H (“H” for hard)  pencils 
  • Erasure: kneaded and “pump” eraser
  • Sharpener: hand held pencil sharpener
  • 11 x 14 Tracing paper pad
  • 11 x 14 Translucent / partially see through Marker pad (please purchase either Borden & Riley #37 or Bienfang 360 if possible). Must be see through, please check with staff before you buy. Information should be written on the cover of the pad.
  • Colored Pencils: A set of Prismacolor pencils or similar brand although Prismacolor is softer (set of 12 or 24)
  • Colored Markers: Chartpak markers or similar brand: 1-2 Skin Tone markers. I use these Chartpak markers for flesh but you can use other marker brands: Chartpak: Pale Flesh, Buff or Sand). About 5-6 additional colors of your choice that would work well for clothing. For example: blue for denim. Please note: working with a blender marker greatly increases your color range.

HAR 087: Advanced Fashion Design Art Techniques II (Updated September 2019)

  • Bring 2 croquis from HAR 016 or copy of final project  or completed  projects outside of the program. 
  • 2H pencils
  • Kneaded eraser

  • Pencil sharpener

  • 11"x 14" tracing paper pad (recommended: Border & Riley #37)

  • Flesh tone markers or pencils 
  • Glue stick
  • Prismacolor pencils 
  • White gel pen
  • 11" x 14" marker pad (Border & Riley layout visual bond #37 )

  • Folder or large envelope to store supplies, swatches and reference
    materials.

  • 11"x14" Tracing Paper Pad ($6.98 approx.)
  • Mechanical / Automatic Pencil w/ 0.5 or 0.7 Lead ($1.98 approx.)
  • #1224 Kneaded Eraser ($0.98 approx.)
  • Staedtler Mars / Plastic Eraser ($1.08 approx.)
