FIT offers an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Business Management. (The program was called Fashion Merchandising Management prior to fall 2015.) See eligibility requirements before you apply.
The AAS curriculum provides a foundation in fashion marketing and fashion merchandising. You'll study contemporary retail management, team development, and product development. The AAS curriculum builds the foundation for the specialization choices in the bachelor's program.
The Bachelor of Science (BS) curriculum offers more advanced studies, with specialized courses in buying and planning, product development, fashion management. Course offerings in market research, financial and assortment planning, and e-commerce broaden your global perspective. Courses use technology and high-tech software applications used by major retailers.
The BS degree helps further your career through:
- internships, often with major companies such as Ralph Lauren, Kohl's, Nike, Macy's, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Ann Taylor, Burlington, Perry Ellis, Ross Stores, Century21 Department Stores, Kate Spade and Saks;
- opportunity for a five-week summer internship in London; and
- study abroad programs in Australia, London, Hong Kong, Paris, Rome, and Florence.
All students have the chance to join the Merchandising Society, which operates the on-campus Style Shop. Students manage all store operations, including buying and developing products, visual merchandising, customer service, and sales, under the guidance of an experienced FBM advisor.
