Commencement Day Instructions

This information is updated as of May 14, 2018. Please check back regularly for updated information.

Please do not call Radio City Music Hall for information. If you have any additional questions, contact commencement@fitnyc.edu.

To help ensure a pleasant experience for all attendees, FIT is pleased to provide information regarding access, logistics, and general instructions for the 2018 Commencement Ceremonies at Radio City Music Hall. We congratulate the Class of 2018, and wish the graduates and their guests a happy and memorable day!

Please remember that students are held to the same expectations and standards outlined in the Code of Conduct. Any individuals who violate these policies will be asked to leave the ceremony.

Student Attire

All graduates are required to wear academic regalia (cap, gown, and tassel). Regalia may be purchased online at Herff Jones. The deadline to purchase regalia was April 24.

We strongly suggest wearing comfortable shoes, since commencement often involves a good deal of standing and walking for both guests and graduates. High heels are discouraged.

Students should bring only cap, gown, and essential personal items or a small handbag that they can keep with them during the ceremony.
