Laurie Kerr

Laurie kerrLaurie Kerr is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Director of the City Energy Project, a partnership between NRDC and the Institute for Market Transformation.  The City Energy Project is an ambitious new initiative which is promoting bold, integrated policies in energy efficiency in leading American cities.  Previously, Laurie was the Deputy Director for Green Building and Energy Efficiency in the New York City Mayors Office, where she helped develop PlaNYC, New York's influential plan for sustainable growth through 2030, and led the development of the Greener, Greater Buildings Plan and the NYC Green Codes Task Force.

Laurie is a licensed architect with over 15 years experience practicing architecture and has written on architecture for Slate and the Wall Street Journal.  Prior to receiving her Masters in Architecture from Harvard, Laurie earned degrees in engineering and applied physics from Yale and Cornell, respectively. She serves on the boards of the New York Chapter of the AIA, Green Light New York, and the Global Cool Cities Alliance, and was given the AIANY Public Architect Award for 2011.
