Login Problems/Troubleshooting

FLEXIBLE REGISTRATION

This is where students purchase their courses. New students will create an account at the time of checkout. Students who have taken courses or applied to the FIT Office of Admissions already have an FIT student account and will need to log in to register. After you register and pay, you will not need to return to this system for the remainder of the semester. See login details below.

How to log in:
Go to the registration screen for the program you're interested in:
http://www.fitnyc.edu/precollege/classes/index.php 
Enter your FIT Student ID Number: (@xxxxxxxxx)
Enter your Password: Pin# 6-digit date of birth (not 8 digits) MMDDYY for example: May 3, 2000= 050300 
     • Returning students will need their FIT Student ID Number (@........) and Pin# (date of birth in 6-digit format MMDDYY) to use the system.
       For example May 03, 2000 = 050300. New students will create an account at checkout.
Recommended Browsers:
     PC: Internet Explorer (versions 9-10-11) or Chrome
     MAC: Chrome (preferred) or Safari (may need latest updates)Access via mobile devices is not available at this time (IOS, Ipads, phones, etc...)  
     Deactivate pop-up blockers if you experience trouble with pages loading.

If you cannot log in:  

ERROR MESSAGE: YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN LOCKED
Email PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu with Subject line "LOCKED" 
Include in email:
   student's full name
   student's date of birth
   student's address on file
   PREC email address on file (you may submit several possible choices if you do not recall). Precollege Programs will email you your FIT ID @number. We cannot provide this information over the phone. Please allow 2-4 business days for your response.

ERROR: NEED FIT STUDENT @ NUMBER   

Email PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu  Subject Line: NEED @ NUMBER
Include in email:
   student's full name
   student's date of birth
   student's address on file
   PREC email address on file (you may submit several possible choices if you do not recall). Precollege Programs will email you your FIT ID @number. We cannot provide this information over the phone. Please allow 2-4 business days for your response.

ERROR: NEED FIT STUDENT PIN#
Your default pin number will be your date of birth in this format: MMDDYY. If you are still not able to log in, email:PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu  
Subject Line: NEED PIN NUMBER
Include in email:
   student's @number
   student's full name
   student's date of birth
   student's address on file
   PREC email address on file (you may submit several possible choices if you do not recall).
Precollege Programs will email you your FIT PIN# number. We cannot provide this information over the phone. Please allow 2-4 business days for your response.

ERROR: CANNOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT
Email PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu Subject Line: CANNOT CREATE ACCOUNT
Include in email:
   student's full name
   student's date of birth
   student's address Precollege Programs will email you with your resolution. We cannot provide this information over the phone. Please allow 2-4 business days for your response.

ERROR MESSAGE: "PREREQUISITE ERROR"
If student demonstrates ability to advance into a course without having taken the pre-req at FIT, they must email samples of their work to PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu, as described in the course description. Our office will enable the registration for the student if the qualifications are met and respond via email.

ERROR MESSAGE: "CANNOT RESET PASSWORD"
Student should first enroll in their course to guarantee a seat.
Email PrecollegePrograms@fitnyc.edu with their name and @number and subject "CANNOT RESET".
We will email you the resolution

ERROR: DATE OF BIRTH IN SYSTEM INCORRECT
Email PrecollegePrograms@FITNYC.edu If your birthday is incorrect in our system, please email us with your corrected birthday so we can fix the error. 
Attach to the email a copy of your Birth Certificate, school transcript with date of birth, passport, or drivers license as proof.  We will email you when the correction has been made.  

UNABLE TO USE THE ONLINE SYSTEM: FAX APPLICATION
If you are unable to use use the online system after unsuccessful troubleshooting, you may use our fax registration form. Please note that seats in selected classes are not guaranteed until you receive our email confirmation. Registration forms are processed on the first-come, first-serve basis.
