Stylecat Help

Primary sources held in SPARC include archives, scrapbooks, oral histories, sketches, illustrations, monographs, and journals. Please consult the lists naming our Manuscript collections, Oral Histories, Periodicals, and illustrators included in the Frances Neady collection. The wide range of primary research sources housed in Special Collections is searchable in Stylecat, the FIT Library's online catalog. You can limit your search in Stylecat to Special Collections by using the Advanced Search tab. Use the guide below to search for Special Collections' materials.

Start by going to the library's homepage. Choose the blue link that says "More information and advanced search options for StyleCat, the FIT Library's Online Catalog."

Stylecat will automatically open the Basic Search page; from here choose the Advanced Search tab.

Using the More Collections pull down menu on the Advanced Search page limit your search to Special Collections then do a key word search.

If more in depth description is not available for a given item or manuscript collection, please ask! We have many finding aids in progress and are happy to describe collections for you over the phone or through email.

For further information on locating primary sources we recommend Yale University's Primary Sources website, especially the Search Strategies section.
