Museum Group Tours and Classes

The museum is visited by hundreds of classes and groups every year, serving FIT students,
students from other local, national, and international institutions (Central Saint Martins from London, Bunka from Tokyo, etc.), and adult and specialty groups.

Exhibition Tours

Guided tours of the current exhibition(s) in the museum's galleries are available. Tours must be booked in advance. Fees vary based on affiliation and time slot.

  • Tours are scheduled on weekdays only. The earliest available time slot is 10 am, and the last time slot is 4 pm.
  • Payment for tours should be received at least three weeks prior to the scheduled tour.
  • There is a $25 charge for tours cancelled less than two weeks prior to the tour date.
  • Maximum group size is 25. Only one group is booked into a time slot.
  • Tours cannot be booked more than three months or fewer than two weeks in advance of your requested date and time.

History of Fashion Lecture (Classroom Visit)

An in-classroom lecture on the history of 20th-century fashion, using objects from the museum's costume collection, is available to outside groups such as high schools, colleges, and tour companies. The lecture must be booked in advance. Fees vary based on affiliation.

  • Lectures are scheduled Monday through Friday. The earliest available time slot is 10 am, and the last time slot is 4 pm.
  • Lectures last approximately one hour.
  • Maximum group size is 25. Only one group is booked into a time slot.
  • Our busiest months are March, April, and May.
  • Payment for lectures should be received at least three weeks prior to the scheduled tour.
  • There is a $25 charge for lectures cancelled less than two weeks prior to the tour date.
  • Lectures cannot be booked more than three months or fewer than two weeks in advance of your requested date and time in advance of the requested date. 

Seminars

Special exhibition tours or in-classroom lectures can also be arranged (with advance notice) for children and adults with developmental disabilities or special needs.
