December 2025

We are excited to announce that ¡Moda Hoy! Latin American and Latinx Fashion Design Today is traveling to Mexico City and will be on view from December 11-April 12 at the Museo Franz Mayer. Organized by MFIT curators Tanya Meléndez-Escalante and Melissa Marra-Alvarez,  the exhibition spotlights contemporary designers from multiple Latin American countries, as well as designers of Latin American heritage living and working in the United States.  It is organized thematically into eight sections that address art, craftsmanship, elegance, gender, Indigenous heritage, politics, urban and regional culture, and sustainability. The exhibition derives from a 2023 show originally at The Museum at FIT, and features over 80 objects from designers and private collectors. The exhibition is a collaboration between MFIT, the Museo Franz Mayer, and the Matters Matters collection.
