Computers in the Library

Computer Labs in the Library are open during regular Library hours, and close 15 minutes before Library closing time. 
For floor-by-floor hours of operation, holiday closings, and extended hours schedule during final weeks of semester, etc. please check Library Hours page

  • Computer workstations, printers and print release stations, copiers, and scanners are distributed thrughout the three Library floors 
  • Wireless connections are available on all floors
  • Laptop computers used by FIT community can only connect through our wireless network (FITAIR)
  • Personal software may not be loaded onto the Library's computers

Location of other Open Computer Labs on campus :

  • The Computer Commons - rooms CC15 and CC15A located in the Feldman Center basement
  • The Peter G. Scotese CAD/COM Facility - 6 classrooms used for classes and as Open Labs when classes are not in session are located on the 2nd floor of Feldman Center. To enter go through C220.

Student Printing Overview

There are charges for printing from all computer print stations in the College. Your FIT ID is used for adding value to and making payments from your printing account. You may add money to your account at one of the two college's PHiL stations - one located on 5th floor of Library by the Reference Desk (across from the Circulation Desk) and the second in the Feldman building basement in CC15, you can also make a deposit online on eAccounts portal

All printers:

  • Print Black and White (PFP_B&W)
  • Print Color (PFP_COLOR)
  • Print both sizes: Letter (8 1/2 x 11) and Tabloid (11 x 17)


  • Black and white laser printing is $0.10, and color printing is $0.90 per page (same price for 8.5x11" and 11x17").

Printer Locations:

  • 5th Floor:  Two Pay for Print Printers are located in E539 and available until 15 minutes before closing time. The 5th floor closes at 12midnight Monday-Thursday.
  • 6th Floor: Two Pay for Print Printers are located in E620 and are available until 15 minutes before closing time. The 6th floor closes at 12midnight Monday-Thursday.

Professional quality digital printing services, fabric and specialty media printing, and fabrication services such as laser cutting and engraving, vinyl cutting, and 3D printing are available at PrintFX and the FabLab in Pomerantz, 5th floor, D529A. Assistance in the Labs

Our Computer Labs are staffed by Student Lab Monitors for the most of Library's operation hours. Lab Monitors are there to assist with basic hardware and software issues, printing, and other functions of the Labs.

Lab Monitors should not be expected to provide in depth assistance with projects, or advanced tutoring for applications. For these services please contact Academic Skills Tutoring Center

During the semester Walk-In tutoring is available on Mondays through Thursdays, 12pm-2pm on the 6th floor of the Library, in E620

Software on Student Workstations 

All Open Computer Labs across the FIT campus have a set collection of software installed. It is likely that additional software packages used to support specific curriculum are available in the classrooms, but may not be available in the open computer labs.


Arduino software is available in E601 lab on the 6th Library floor only

Rhino 5 software is available in E620 on the following PC workstations: 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30
