Apply for Funding

The Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs is committed to helping you succeed in your pursuit of grants.

These general guidelines will help ensure that you don’t encounter unexpected problems or waste time on work that can’t proceed.

If you are unclear about FIT policies, please contact us. We are here to guide you through the process.

"One Door In, One Door Out"

All college grants must be logged through the Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs. Our office submits all final proposals to grant-makers. We also review and file grant reports.

Leave Enough Time

In general, grant proposals must be submitted to the “Grants Office” for FIT administrative review at least one month before grant-maker deadlines.

Contact the Grants Office at least a couple of months in advance of deadlines. Also reach out if you need funding and are not sure where to turn, or if you have a project idea but no details. We love to brainstorm!

Let Us Know

Talk to us before you contact grant makers. There may be FIT funding history, or we may know their program officers. Be aware that others at FIT may be applying for the same grant, and some grant-makers limit how many grants a college can submit. We can help you negotiate this landscape to get best results.
