Direct Loan Entrance Counseling Sessions
All students receiving a Direct Loan for the first time at FIT are required to complete a Loan Counseling Session as one of the final steps in the loan process.
You may complete your Entrance Loan Counseling online at studentaid.gov. If you have any questions regarding your loans, you can contact the loan team at [email protected].
Current Status of Financial Aid Processing:
Due to the impact of the Coronavirus, Financial Aid Services at FIT is currently working remotely. We will be continuing to process your financial aid. We recommend that any documents being sent to Financial Aid Services be attached to your email, as we will not be able to receive faxes or mail at this time.
Our financial aid email accounts are the best way to stay in contact with us. We will try to get back to you as soon as we can but due to the current situation, there may be a delay. We thank you for your patience during these times.
While we recommend using the IRS data retrieval tool on the FAFSA to submit tax information, if you choose to email a copy of your tax return we recommend blanking out all but the last four digits of any social security numbers listed on the return. PLEASE make sure to put the student's FIT ID number on the top of ALL DOCUMENTS.
If you are sending documents to Financial Aid Services, we request that you email your documents in PDF, JPEG or TIFF formats to [email protected]. An example is attached of the 2019 IRS 1040 and the 3 schedules that may be required for your 2021-2022 FAFSA. Should you still need a copy for your 2020-2021 application, an example is attached for the 2018 IRS 1040 and the 3 schedules .
