Tuesday 6, from 1-2 pm: The Creative Imagination and Race, followed by a Q&A and a book signing.
Claudia Rankine is the author of the National Book Critics Circle and NAACP Vision Award-winning Citizen: An American Lyric, deemed “the most talked-about book of poetry of 2014” by Dean Rader of the Huffington Post. In Citizen Rankine intersperses autobiographical pieces about her own racially-charged interactions in daily life with considerations of the public lives of Serena Williams, Trayvon Martin, James Craig Anderson, and others.
