Summer Housing Suggestions

The majority of our participants reside with family members or family friends within the commutable distance of FIT for the duration of their summer program. This is preferred, since every child requires a LOCAL EMERGENCY CONTACT while attending an FIT Precollege Program. The LOCAL EMERGENCY CONTACT designee must be known to the parent or guardian and be 18 years of age or older.  FIT is conveniently located near most MTA subway lines, LIRR, Metro-North Railroad, NJ Transit, Amtrak, commuter busses and is in walking distance of Penn Station.

FIT does not provide, nor is it affiliated with any housing opportunities. Housing recommendations below are listed as a resource to our students and their families.

Recommended Booking Dates:
We recommend arriving early enough before your chosen orientation date so you will have time to settle-in, relax and get your student ID card.  The dates of our various programs will be listed in the Precollege Calendar.

Location:
FIT is located at West 27th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues. This midtown location, the center of the fashion industries, is easily reached by every subway, major railroad line, and bus route in the city. There are also parking garages in the neighborhood, however there is no on-campus parking.
