   Mask Parade - COVID Mask Design & Cover Model Contest

Details: The COVID Mask Design & Cover Model contest encourages mask wearing to stop the spread of coronavirus, brings the creative talent of African American fashion professionals to the forefront, and offers participants a vehicle for leaving their mark in history via the “COVID Mask” collectible coffee table book.

Submission Deadline: December 5, 2020

Winners Selected: December 15, 2020

Competition GuidelinesEntry must be an original work. Entrant must be 18 years or older at the time of entry and of the African diaspora (Black, African American, Pan-African). Photos should be in color, with only one person in the photo, in .jpg format and not exceed 100 MB in size. Bust up frontal, left and right side profile views should be submitted via the official event page www.blackfashionworld.org/maskcovermodel. No entry fee or purchase is required to enter or win the contest. Purchasing an event ticket will not increase ability to win the competition. One entry per person, per household, or email address. Contestants should follow all social distancing rules while capturing images to submit their entry for the contest. The contest is open to people having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa (Black, African American, Pan-African) who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, territories of the United States, and residents of countries located outside of the United States.

   International Sustainable Fashion Design Contest

Details: To support and encourage the emerging designers on their way to higher sustainability & responsibility, The Sustainables. Agency & Showroom is launching global initiative among emerging talents - International Sustainable Fashion Design Contest. The judge panel includes international experts in fashion and sustainability: fashion editors, fashion designers, sustainability experts, international buyers. The winner will get an opportunity to present the collection to most of key retailers in the fashion industry in Paris during fashion week.

Competition Guidelines: Design a sustainable fashion collection /RTW or accessories (minimum of 5 looks). Share with us the story and sustainable approach. The Applicants’ submissions are evaluated by the jury committee with regard to the following criteria: sustainability,  design, storytelling, uniqueness, commercial potential.

   Frontrow Streetwear Contest

Details: Since 2018, the EDHEC Talons Aiguilles Association organizes the Frontrow: an International Competition for Streetwear Designers.

Winners Selected: January 17, 2021

Competition Guidelines: 20 finalists, from the best fashion design school in the world will present their creations to a jury composed of leading names from the worlds of sport, fashion and urban culture. To be chosen for the finale of the Streetwear Contest, you will have to create 3 outfits : a woman ready-to-wear outfit, a man ready-to-wear and a ready-to-wear outfit for woman or man. These 3 outfits must be created as a small collection. Consequently, the style, the colors and the fabrics have to be harmonious. Feel free to brighten them up with certain accessories. You will have to make them if you are selected for the finale.

About Talons Aiguilles: Talons Aiguilles is the leading student fashion association in France. Created in 1992, it is thanks to its International Competition of Young Fashion Designers that it has been able to evolve. Jurors such as Paco Rabanne, Thierry Mugler, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Christian Lacroix or Chantal Thomass came to evaluate the outfits created by these young international designers. Every year, Talons Aiguilles gives young designers the opportunity to participate in professional competitions where they can express themselves on two themes and in two universes, meet prestigious figures from the world of fashion and arts, and win prizes that will allow them to advance in their professional careers.

Competition GuidelinesBoutiqueSetup team believes there are a lot of creative students with some extra time due to the pandemic crisis. They are looking for talented fashion enthusiasts to show their creativity. You will need to write a post on the Shape of online fashion stores during the Corona Crisis. Anyone with a keen interest in the fashion niche can apply. One student can only submit a single post URL to them.

   Concours Jeunes Créateur (Young Creators Competition)

Details: If there is one area where creation has its place, it is fashion.  The main objective of this contest is to enable young talents from all over the world to establish relationships with professionals in the world of fashion, while showing their creativity.

Submission Deadline: February 14, 2021

Winners Selected: February 21, 2021

Competition Guidelines: The candidates will be asked to reflect on a specific theme. They will have to imagine 3 outfits, a ready-to-wear feminine outfit, a ready-to-wear masculine outfit, and a haute couture outfit. They will have to send to Talons Aiguilles their file, containing drawings, sketches, material samples. Following the evaluation of their applications, the association will select 20 finalists. These 20 candidates will then have to make their outfits from scratch and will have the chance to see them march during an evening in the town of Lille. On that day, their creations will be evaluated by a jury of leading names and will have the opportunity to win prizes. This year the theme is naked, you can find more details about the theme on the brochure.

   C-IDEA Design Award

Details: The C-IDEA Design Award aims to recognize outstanding design with social value, excavate more farsighted, and responsible excellent design forces to help the development of the design industry! The C-IDEA Design Award hopes to create more opportunities for excellent designers to communicate and cooperate with exhibitions, awards ceremonies, and international events.

Winners Selected: March 2021

Competition Guidelines: All the Designers, Design groups, Design institutions, Teachers of design colleges, Junior college students, Undergraduate Students, and Graduate students can sign up for the C-IDEA Design Award.  Any unpublished and published concept works include mass-produced or marketed products that can participate in C-IDEA Design Award. The works must be the original works created by the competitors recently and it is completely original without plagiarism.
